Content Writing

Every new casino is launched with a foundation of guides, testimonials and blogs, and in the weeks that follow their launch there is also a deluge of reviews. In addition to this the internet is awash with slot reviews, gambling guides, and so much more.

Casino content is abundant, but not all of it has value because a lot of it makes the following mistakes:

5. Being too positive

99 out of 100 casino reviews are positive, and the same is true for slot reviews. That’s because the people writing them want you to signup to those casinos and to play those games, so they know that bad-mouthing them would be a huge mistake.

However, readers are not stupid. They know that an overly positive review is a fake review, especially if the same tone is used for every other article. You can still promote a site or a product without being overly positive—include the odd negative, but do so in a way that still highlights the positives.

For instance, “This is the perfect casino; everything is great” is not as believable as “The withdrawals are a little slow, but it has some of the best bonuses we have seen”. The latter seems more honest and could result in more signups.

4. Being too vague

Lazy writers employ lazy tricks to help them rush through articles. A good writer, such as the ones you’ll find here on Language Bear, understands the value of research and knows how to incorporate this research for the benefit of readers and search engines.

If you’re writing about RTPs, payouts, jackpots, promotions and other features, then be specific. Users don’t want to hear that a site has “good” bonuses or that a slot has a “good” RTP. They want to know how big those bonuses are and how high that RTP is. Details like this will stop them from leaving your site to search for answers elsewhere.

3. Forced keywords

It is impossible to write a coherent, clear and informative article while trying to crowbar nonsensical keywords in. This is one of the biggest mistakes that people make and it leads to poorly written articles that are painful to read.

Keywords are important, but focus on well-written content first and the keywords will fit in naturally. As soon as you start forcing unnatural keywords then it shows Google that you’re writing for the search engine and not for your readers, and that’s a big mistake.

2. Too short or long

A lot of casino content is limited to just a couple hundred words, which is rarely enough to get the point across and will never be enough to satisfy those search engine spiders. You should never prolong content just for the sake of it, but at the same time you shouldn’t cut it short.

Write enough to get the point across, be as comprehensive as possible, and don’t force it to be too short or too long. This will benefit both your readers and the search engines.

1. Filled with promotions

The vast majority of gambling guides are published on affiliate websites, which means their main goal is to get people to signup to a casino or sports book. The same is true for casino reviews and pretty much all other types of casino content.

It makes sense, as the publisher of that content benefits financially if the reader signs up to one of those sites. However, it means that the average reader is accustomed to ignoring these requests and to ignoring entire reviews that are saturated with promotions.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make when writing casino content is to focus too much on the promotions and to make it clear that those promotions are your only goal. Show the reader that you know what you’re talking about, give them the information they seek, and provide them with casino links in a way that is both natural and beneficial.

For example, instead of randomly inserting sentences like “join this great casino”, mention a no deposit casino when writing about no deposit bonuses, link to a BetSoft casino when writing about 3D slots, etc.,

Conclusion: Plan sensibly

There is a lot of casino content out there and your goal should not be to add to this, but to standout from it. You don’t want content that is like everything else, and to avoid that you need to avoid making the same mistakes.

Keep the aforementioned tips in mind and your readers will thank you for it.
