iGB Affiliate 2022 was a major conference hosted alongside ICE London from April 13 to April 14. The event never fails to draw a crowd and 2022 was one of the biggest yet, with pre-event predictions estimating a turnout nearly a third larger than the one held in 2020.

As always, the Language Bear team was there in full force, and these are a few of our favourite highlights from the conference.

The emerging US market

The iGB Affiliate conference is held at the ExCel in London and it’s attended by many top brands, most of which have a major share in the UK and European gambling markets. But the USA was one of the hot topics of the event, as law changes and acquisitions have created a gambling gold rush across the Atlantic.

Over 40% of companies attending the event have some investment in the US market and others were seeking their share. The US market is something we have also explored here at Language Bear, with a growing number of US brands looking to our expertise to help them build engaging and enriching content targeted toward US players.

The deals discussed during this conference will no doubt go a long way to shaping the US gambling market in 2022 and 2023.

Ascending to new heights

iGB Affiliate 2022 witnessed the launch of Ascend, a mentoring program targeted toward women in the gambling/gambling affiliate industry.

The launch coincided with International Women’s Day and gave organizers the perfect chance to encourage more women to get involved and to ensure they have the tools needed to advance their careers.

The World Cup

One of the largest areas at the conference was devoted to the FIFA 2022 World Cup, due to be staged in November and December of this year. The World Cup is the biggest betting event on the calendar, and there were a number of exhibits highlighting its potential.

Not only do betting sites receive a deluge of new memberships and wagers during this global event, but it also inspires the creation of new casino promotions, football-themed slot machines, and even new Live Casino games.

The World Cup is usually staged in the summer and this will be the first winter tournament. As a result, it could clash with promotions intended for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas, creating a few headaches for affiliates and marketers alike.

GIG wins best casino affiliate

During the iGB Affiliate Awards, Gaming Innovation Group (GIG) was voted as the “Best Casino Affiliate”.

These annual awards celebrate the best iGaming companies in the gambling business, and GIG took home the most prestigious award due to its rapid organic growth and the immense coverage of its CasinoTopsOnline website, one that spans 400+ casinos and is available in many different languages.
